ABOUT ROOSEVELT TOSTON
Roosevelt Toston was born in the small village of Epps, LA, in northeast Louisiana, and at the age of 17, relocated to Las Vegas, Nevada, where he has made his home for 61 years. He has been married for the last 47 years to Gertrude Woods Toston.
Roosevelt is the author of Beating the Odds in Las Vegas and in Life; When God Speaks, How His Amazing Visits Changed My Life; Seeing Stars, My Tribute to Celebrities, Historians, & Pioneers. He co-wrote the book Trustee: My Experience as The Administrator of My Sister’s Living Trust & Will, by author Mary Freeman. Roosevelt has been profiled in bizNevada Magazine (September 2018 Edition) and in the Las Vegas Review-Journal newspaper (December 8, 2019). He was Nevada’s first African American Television News Reporter (1970-75) and Anchorman. He had several job titles during a 28-year career at the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority.
